The field of ultrafast dynamics and multi-pulse laser spectroscopy is more vibrant than ever before. Recent developments and perspectives will be presented during the two-day Symposium Life in Liouville Space: 30 years of Theoretical Spectroscopy on December 15-16, 2008 at the University of California at Irvine (UCI). The Symposium is organized to celebrate the 60th birthday of Prof. Shaul Mukamel and to honor his initiating and leading role in this field.
